Sustainability
At AMANITA we practice sustainability as a way of life (slow life). Our approach includes respect for seasonality by growing fruit and vegetables on site, commitment to locality by supporting the local micro-economy, use of organic food and amenities, creating wellness through contact with nature.
Our sustainable practices to protect the environment:
- Our buildings have been designed in accordance with the sustainable principles of the traditional architecture of East Pelion, based on the old buildings that were in the same location. Local materials (stone and wood) have been widely used in the construction. Interior paint products are eco-friendly, breathable, by a local industry in Volos. The mattresses are made of natural non-toxic materials and the bed linen is made of cotton.
- Our windows have double heat-insulating and sound-insulating glass and screens so that you can enjoy natural ventilation.
- We have reduced the use of plastics and implement recycling practices, encouraging our guests to support them. Bathroom toiletries containers are reusable.
- We apply practices to reduce energy consumption, using energy saving lamps and thermostats in each room, that allow guests to customize temperature.
- Bathroom toiletries are eco-friendly, made of all-natural ingredients.
- We wash bed linen and towels in our own washing machines with special biodegradable detergents.
- We recycle papers, plastics, metals, and cooking oil. Food waste is either composted or used as animal feed.
Help us improve sustainability and reduce our energy footprint.
- turn off lights and appliances when you leave the room.
- separate your waste.
